Leigh Cain Creative has designed the new museum interior and permanent exhibition on Hadrian’s Wall for English Heritage. The new and contemporary design allows visitors to move freely in a colourful and light space to view around 800 objects in a logical direction, with views through the impressive Roman stones to the external archeological site.
Large heavy stones are mounted on long plinths in three zones, with showcased objects mounted onto white acrylic inserts. Materiality defines the three themes, and oak, stone and metal infused ceramics are surfaces for the 12 plinths.

Museum reopened April 2018.
